These non-invasive therapies include acupressure, shiatsu, tui- na, cupping and gua- sha. These therapies are excellent for musculoskeletal/ painful conditions. They can be used alone or in conjunction with acupuncture and herbal medicine to enhance the overall therapeutic effect of treatment.

Tui na literally means push-pull. This is a set of ancient massage techniques that utilize the theory, meridians, and points of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Cupping involves the placement of glass, plastic, or bamboo cups on the skin with suction. Cupping is used for respiratory issues such as the common cold, pneumonia, and bronchitis. Cupping is also used to treat neck, back, shoulder, and hip pain. Cupping is a wonderful and relaxing way to relieve tight muscles.

Gua sha is a muscular scraping technique. This is another therapy that is often used in conjunction w/ cupping also relieving stress, tension, and pain from the muscles.

Acupressure is a therapy that uses the same basic principles as acupuncture, applying pressure on the acu-points with out the use of needles. This modality is great for young children, those uncomfortable with needles, and those who are very weak.
